Plans for expansion announced for Bridgeport’s airport

Big news for Harrison County. A multimillion-dollar aircraft hangar is on the way near Bridgeport’s North Central Regional Airport.

KCI Aviation announced a $16 million development project that’ll bring a brand-new aircraft and engine maintenance facility to the area, and with it, 25 to 30 new mechanic jobs.

The project will roll out in two phases. First up: a 30,000-square-foot hangar designed to handle two large-cabin planes that will be ready by early 2026. It will focus on engine support, including removal and installation services.

Then, in phase two, KCI plans to add another 50,000 square feet of space to make room for more inspection, fly-in work, and mobile aircraft repairs.

The facility will also work closely with Pratt & Whitney’s Bridgeport operation and Gulfstream aircraft, already important to the region.
