Calhoun County Commission President Craig Arthur, who has been charged with seven counts of failing to pay taxes or file returns, appeared in court this week for his initial appearance. The commissioner faces multiple charges, all misdemeanors, linked to failure to pay taxes or file returns in a business he co-owned. The penalties he could face don’t include going to jail. WCHS TV said Arthur was the co-owner of a business called A and A Monument Services with Nathan Allison. Allison faces identical tax charges.
