Kanawha County employees are getting a bump in their paychecks starting this month. The County Commission just approved a 6% raise for all county workers, including those in the prosecutor’s office, circuit clerk’s office, and more.
Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office will get a little extra — an 8% raise total — to help with recruitment and retention.
Commission President Ben Salango says it’s the first raise since 2022 and it’s being funded with leftover revenue that wasn’t originally budgeted.
