Longtime college football coach and Charleston native Shawn Clark died unexpectedly on Sunday. Clark had been hospitalized for a medical emergency, according to a statement from the University of Central Florida, and he had been in stable condition prior to his death. The veteran coach was hired to lead the offensive line at UCF following a tenure at App State. Prior to coaching, Clark graduated from George Washington High School in Charleston and played collegiately at App State. He was 50.
