Two face charges for stealing fishing gear in St. Albans

Two St. Albans men accused of stealing fishing gear from pontoon boats docked along the Kanawha River have been arrested. 40-year-old Joshua Lacy has been charged with three counts of entering a vessel and one county of conspiracy while 45-year-old Eric Nunley is facing four conspiracy charges. Eyewitness News said officers responded to Lou Wendell Marine Tuesday after a man was seen climbing a fence to access a dock. St. Albans Police said Lacy and Nunley were found nearby with “a large amount of fishing equipment.” Investigators claim Lacy scaled the barrier to steal fishing poles from pontoon boats and then handed them across the fence to Nunley. Police estimated the fishing gear to be valued at more than $1,000.
