Over the summer, the Charleston YWCA announced they would cancel their annual Girls Night Out event, which had been running for thirty years and raised money for their Resolve Family Abuse Program. The replacement event – a new version of Girls Night Out – may not happen either. The YWCA had planned to have open-house style events on the first Friday of every month to feature survivor stories and honor the history of the organization, but tickets didn’t sell well, so that’s been canceled. The first one was set to take place tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 5), at the Hale Street Center in Charleston. The YWCA announced on social media that the event had been canceled and refunds would be available.
