A Putnam County man who pleaded guilty in a deadly beating case was sentenced on Tuesday. William Cobb of Winfield was sentenced to three years of home confinement with credit for more than 500 days already served. Cobb pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter for an incident in Kanawha County on June 5, 2024, where he struck a man multiple times in the head with a blunt force object. The man was taken to a local hospital and later died.
