Another lawsuit has been filed against a Sissonville couple already serving prison time in a landmark child abuse and human trafficking case.
A guardian for one of the couple’s adopted children is suing Donald Lantz and Jeanne Whitefeather, accusing them of denying food and water, forcing the child to sleep outside, and using physical punishment.
It’s the fifth lawsuit filed by their adopted children.
The couple was convicted last year after police found two kids locked in a shed at their Sissonville home and uncovered video evidence of extreme mistreatment.
Whitefeather is serving up to 215 years, and Lantz up to 160 years in prison, marking the first time human trafficking charges were used in a West Virginia child abuse case.
