Belle Police Chief remains on leave

A civil service panel is backing Belle Mayor David Fletcher’s decision to fire Police Chief Robert Glenn, following a hearing on alleged misconduct.

Testimony revealed Glenn ordered a truck towed that didn’t meet legal standards for removal, allegedly to obtain the vehicle or its parts. He’s also accused of forging his signature on related documents, according to WCHS TV.

Glenn is a 15-year veteran with no prior issues in Belle, and remains on paid leave. A key witness failed to appear despite a subpoena.

The panel’s findings will go to Belle City Council next week. Belle is without a police chief while Glenn remains on paid administrative leave.
