A Calhoun County Commissioner free on bond amid a child sexual abuse investigation. Jacob McCumbers of Arnoldsburg submitted his resignation after being charged with 50 counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, or custodian. McCumbers also worked as a first-grade teacher at Arnoldsburg Elementary. Calhoun County Schools previously said he was immediately removed once the investigation began. Commissioners meet today and they’ll consider a potential appointment to McCumbers’ seat. WCHS TV said McCumbers is set to appear for a preliminary hearing that has been continued three times on November 3. A special magistrate from Jackson County has been assigned to preside over the hearing.
