Gov. Patrick Morrisey announced the state will be matching donations to the Facing Hunger Food Bank and Mountaineer Food Bank on a dollar-for-dollar basis up to the $13 million mark. Morrisey has also activated the West Virginia National Guard to assist with food distribution and establishing mobile food banks in rural areas. In Charleston, a network of churches are working together to provide daily means to the community. Starting Monday, the First Baptist Church – located at 432 Shrewsbury Street – will serve dinner from 6 to 7 p.m. daily. The church is accepting donations at a secured drop-off point or through the Give life application.
