Judge sentences, reprimands convicted sex offender

A Kanawha County judge had harsh words for a Sissonville man sentenced to up to 185 years in prison for sexually assaulting a child.

25-year-old Nicholas Quade pleaded guilty in August to multiple charges, including first-degree sexual assault and abuse by a person in a position of trust. The victim, just 9 years old, reported the abuse to deputies in early 2024.

Circuit Judge Tera Salango called Quade a “monster” and said she hopes he dies in prison, saying the community must be protected from predators like him.

Quade will also face 50 years of supervision if ever released and must register as a sex offender for life.
