Kroger has interest joining a Huntington development

A proposed $40 million mixed-use redevelopment project in the City of Huntington is up for a vote this month. The Huntington City Planning & Zoning Commission said it is reviewing plans for a 13-acre project on 24th Street, between 3rd and 5th Avenues. WCHS TV said Kroger has expressed interest in building a new 99,000 square foot Kroger Marketplace grocery store at the location. The area was once considered for the site of the Marshall University Baseball Stadium before it was built near the school’s campus. The proposal will go before the Board of Zoning Appeals on October 21st at 5:30 p.m..
