The West Virginia Division of Highways awarded a contract to continue work on the Coalfields Expressway. They’ll build a three-mile connector road between Pineville and Twin Falls State Park.Triton Construction won the contract, totaling $72.5 million. A 5.12-mile project connecting Welch to West Virginia Route 16 as part of the project is set to be complete by summer of 2026.
