A Tennessee man accused of bludgeoning a person with a hammer in Mason County pleaded guilty Friday to attempted murder, prosecutors said. Kenneth L. Connell, 46, of Brush Creek, Tenn., was arrested in April following a reported assault on Tribble Road in the Leon area, according to the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office. A criminal complaint said investigators found a man covered in blood with a “large laceration from the front of his head to the back.” A woman was also found bloody and unresponsive. Investigators said a hammer covered in blood was found at the scene and interviews with the victims helped them identify Connell as the alleged suspect.
