A new 2025 study highlights West Virginia as one of America’s favorite fall getaway spots. The Texas Real Estate Source survey asked over 3,000 people where they’d most like to own a cabin. Monongahela National Forest ranked 13th nationwide, while New River Gorge came in at 66th and Canaan Valley at 97th. Researchers say affordability is a big draw, with homes averaging between $150,000 and $200,000. The Mountain State continues to see some of the nation’s highest homeownership and move-in rates.
