As federal employees remain unpaid during the government shutdown, efforts are underway to take care of workers at the West Virginia International Yeager Airport. The airport is accepting donations of items at its main terminal, including baby essentials, gift cards (gas, grocery or retail), nonperishable food items, pet supplies, and toiletries. So far, delays caused by air traffic controller shortages have not hit Charleston, according to Eyewitness News, despite about 100 employees being affected by the shutdown.
