Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office receives funds from seized firearm sale

West Virginia State Treasurer Larry Pack stopped in Kanawha County Monday to deliver unclaimed property funds to local organizations.

Pack presented more than two thousand dollars to Clendenin Pharmacy and nearly twenty-five thousand dollars to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s funds came from the statewide seized firearm auction in September, where nearly 600 guns were sold — 134 of them from Kanawha County.

Sheriff Joey Crawford says the money will directly support field units and public safety efforts.
