A case against former Calhoun County Commissioner Jacob McCumbers is moving forward to circuit court.
Special Magistrate Tamra Milhoan found probable cause Monday on 50 counts of child sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, or custodian.
McCumbers was arrested in September after a child told investigators he’d been assaulted for nearly a decade, beginning before the age of ten.
He’s free on bond and has since resigned from the county commission.
McCumbers also worked as a first-grade teacher at Arnoldsburg Elementary, where school officials say he was immediately removed once the investigation began.
The case will next be presented to a Calhoun County grand jury for possible indictment.
