New agreement allows anglers to fish more easily in rivers that cover Kentucky and West Virginia

Anglers in West Virginia and Kentucky can once again fish across state lines under a renewed reciprocal agreement. The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources says the deal allows fishing from either side of the Big Sandy and Tug Fork rivers without needing two licenses. However, it only applies to the main stem of those rivers — anglers using embayments or tributaries on the Kentucky side still need a Kentucky license. West Virginia also has similar fishing agreements with Ohio and Maryland. Anyone 15 or older must have a valid fishing license and ID, and trout stamps are required for trout fishing.
