A Putnam County man has been indicted after deputies say a victim was beaten and held inside a doghouse.
Fifty-seven-year-old Larry Newberry of Scott Depot faces charges of kidnapping, malicious assault, and conspiracy. A 911 caller in June reported hearing a man screaming for help. The victim later told investigators he was struck in the head with a gun, then forced into a doghouse that was blocked with a large chest and ratchet strap.
He said Newberry and others accused him of stealing drugs. Newberry is being held at Western Regional Jail awaiting court proceedings.
