Charleston officials celebrated the completion of a $5.2 million seat replacement project at the Charleston Coliseum last week.
Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin says the investment will bring people together for concerts, tournaments, and graduations.
Nearly 10,000 new seats were installed, replacing ones that dated back to the Coliseum’s 1980 opening.
The project took nearly three years of planning and more than 9,000 labor hours to complete.
The first event to welcome fans to the new seating will be the West Virginia State High School Volleyball Championships.
