UC is recognized for embracing male nursing students

The University of Charleston has been named one of the nation’s “Best Schools for Men in Nursing” for the second year in a row. The honor, from the American Association for Men in Nursing, recognizes programs that recruit, support, and celebrate men in the profession. UC is the only West Virginia school on the list, joining universities like Duke, Johns Hopkins, and Vanderbilt. Of UC’s 205 nursing students in Charleston and Beckley, 34 are men. Faculty say the recognition highlights UC’s commitment to inclusion, leadership, and compassionate, patient-centered care.
