Application period is open now to become a UC Presidential Scholar

The University of Charleston is opening applications for its top academic honor, the Presidential Scholarship. The program gives high-achieving students admitted for Fall 2026 the chance to graduate without tuition debt and offers leadership training, mentoring with the university president, and opportunities to shape campus life.

The scholarship covers full tuition, fees, and room and board for four years. Students with at least a 3.75 GPA and a strong record of leadership and service are eligible to apply.

Up to fifteen semi-finalists will be selected for first-round interviews, with nine advancing to a final on-campus event. From those finalists, four students will be chosen as Presidential Scholars.

Applications are due January 9, 2026.
