More details released on a crash that killed an 8-year-old girl

Investigators say an SUV involved in a crash that killed an 8-year old girl earlier this month was traveling on the wrong side of the road.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office says the SUV, driven by Kayla Jacobs, crashed head-on into a utility van just before 5 p.m. on December 2nd along Lens Creek Road.

Eight-year-old Ethelyn Grubb, who was riding in the front passenger seat, died from her injuries.

Jacobs and the driver of the van were taken to local hospitals.

Deputies say the crash remains under investigation.
