Shoneys in Belle was hit by a coal truck. No injuries. Driver and patrons were evacuated

Employees and patrons of a Kanawha County restaurant were evacuated after a coal truck crashed into the building, deputies said. The wreck occurred about 5 p.m. Thursday, downing power lines behind a Shoney’s location in Belle, according to Kanawha County deputies. Deputies said the driver was entrapped due to the downed lines and diesel fuel leaked from the vehicle. Emergency personnel helped remove the driver and evacuate the building. No injuries have been reported.
