A Boone County mother is pleading for answers nearly seven years after the death of her daughter, 28-year-old Meagan Reed. Reed vanished in August 2018 after spending a weekend with her longtime boyfriend. Two weeks later, her body was found in a creek along Prenter Road in the Seth area and identified only by her tattoos.
The medical examiner ruled her death an overdose, but her mother, Alice Cooper, believes someone placed Reed in the creek and failed to call for help.
As the holidays approach, Cooper is urging anyone with information to come forward. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office says they believe multiple people know what happened. Tips can be reported at Boone County’s 24-hour non-emergency line.
