Two men charged for failure to render aid to woman suffering a drug overdose

Two men have been charged for failing to help a woman who died at a Hinton, W.Va., home back in November, court records said. Steven Raines and Steven Richmond have been charged with failure to render aid resulting in the death of Lakesha Bonds along with petit larceny, according to a criminal complaint filed in Summers County Magistrate Court.The complaint said on Nov. 13, the three had gathered at a Sixth Avenue address where Bonds had used methamphetamine and fentanyl while drinking heavily.Records said Bonds became unresponsive and neither man “attempted to wake Bonds, check her breathing, administer Narcan or contact emergency services, despite being within only a few feet of her unresponsive body.” According to records, the men stole narcotics and a phone belonging to Bonds before leaving the home.
