Tuesday morning a vehicle came off an interstate overpass landing on Kanawha Boulevard in Charleston and caught fire according to emergency personnel. The wreck occurred along Interstate 77 North shortly after 8 a.m., according to a Metro 911 alert. Firefighters worked to extricate the driver. Officials on scene said the driver was trapped inside the burning vehicle for several minutes before being rushed to a nearby hospital. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
