Last year’s general fund topped 61-and-a-half million dollars, with rising costs tied to jail expenses and employee health insurance. WCHS TV said they expect those costs to climb again this year, even as revenues increase from higher property values. Commissioners say taxes will not be raised. Budget requests are due in February, with final approval expected by the end of March.
