New Year’s Eve morning, Chapmanville’s Brian Dingess laced up his running shoes with the goal of running 100 miles within 24 hours He stuck to that plan all the way into 2026 for a total of 400 laps around the track at Chapmanville High School’s Barker Stadium. Dingess had many people joining him and encouraging him lap by lap. An avid runner, he said he was inspired by God to do the feat, and to raise money for his local church, Morning Star Freewill Baptist Church. His wife Christina was among the supporters that braved the cold and cheered him on, creating a finish line for him to cross and ringing cow bells in support.
