Man charged with hit and run and DUI

Police say a man was arrested in Huntington after striking a pedestrian with his car and hospitalizing them. The incident occurred just after 9 a.m. Friday in the 900 block of Adams Avenue, according to a social media post from the Huntington Police Department. Police said the victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver, 45-year-old James Royall Anderson, fled the scene in a Jeep Renegade, according to police, but was later stopped and taken into custody without incident. Anderson is being charged with hit-and-run with injury, as well as DUI causing personal injury. He is currently being held at the Western Regional Jail.
