Man linked to a 2025 arson is sentenced to prison

A Charleston man who set fire to his apartment building, injuring four people, was sentenced to prison this week. Ryan Oshay Robbins received ten years on an arson charge and an additional one year for destruction of property, with the sentences to be served consecutively. Investigators say Robbins was arrested in June after surveillance video showed him pouring gasoline along a seventh-floor hallway of the Vista View Apartments and setting it on fire. A judge described Robbins as a danger to the public, saying the fire endangered countless lives, including children. Four people were hurt, among them three police officers who helped evacuate the building.
