A vehicle pursuit in Kanawha County Tuesday evening ended with a DUI arrest, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies say 56-year-old Wilbur Lee Johnson of Elkview was charged with second-offense DUI and fleeing while DUI. Authorities attempted a traffic stop after spotting a vehicle swerving along North Pinch Roach, but the driver refused to stop. The pursuit continued onto Prairie Hills Road, where the vehicle became stuck in a ditch. Deputies say Johnson exited the vehicle and fell to the ground, showing signs of intoxication. He later refused breath and field sobriety tests. Johnson is being held on a ten-thousand-dollar bond.
