Bomb threat sends Nitro High School students home early on Monday

A Kanawha County school dismissed early on Monday following a reported bomb threat. Students at Nitro High School were sent home and finished the day through remote learning, according to a Kanawha County Schools spokesperson. Officials say the school received a message over the weekend similar to one that recently led to a temporary evacuation at Yeager Airport. Because it can take about an hour to search and clear the campus, administrators decided it was best not to keep students outside and instead dismiss them for the day.
