Danny Boyd, a prominent West Virginia filmmaker, writer and longtime professor in the Kanawha Valley, has died at the age of 69. Boyd spent more than three decades teaching media studies at West Virginia State University while producing award-winning films and documentaries distributed worldwide. Boyd was known for involving students in his professional work and for his lasting influence on West Virginia’s filmmaking community. He retired from WVSU in 2016 after 33 years.
