Greenbrier Minerals LLC will close 6 installations

Greenbrier Minerals LLC issued a WARN notice Friday announcing the layoffs of 530 employees beginning April 14. The mine operator has announced plans to idle more than a half-dozen operations in West Virginia and permanently lay off more than 500 workers. According to the notice, the layoffs will be permanent. The impacted operations include mines and prep plants in Logan and Wyoming counties. Employees at the company’s administrative offices in Lyburn, W.Va., were also included in the notice. Greenbrier Minerals, which is controlled by Coronado Global Resources, cited “adverse market conditions” as its reason for the layoffs.
