A 28-year-old Logan woman is accused of stealing nearly $2,000 from a psychiatric hospital patient while working for ResCare Community Living.
Brooke Vance faces charges including financial exploitation of an incapacitated adult and grand larceny, according to a complaint filed in Logan County Magistrate Court.
Deputies say the resident’s bank card was used multiple times while the patient was hospitalized at Mildred Mitchell-Bateman Hospital in Huntington. Investigators found transactions at several retailers over two months, some including cash back, and a check with a signature that did not match the resident’s.
