Kanawha County judge to host a special wedding day ahead of Valentine’s Day

A Kanawha County judge is offering to help couples tie the knot in time for Valentine’s Day. For a fifth year, Judge Maryclaire Akers will be hosting a King of Hearts Day in Charleston, officiating weddings on Friday, Feb. 13, according to a news release from the judge’s office. The release said ceremonies will be performed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 11 Court Street. WCHS TV said the event honors the late judge Charles King’s tradition of performing Valentine’s Day weddings. While walk-ins will be accepted, couples may make an appointment by dialing 304-357-0367.
