The Pinch Volunteer Fire Department is rallying around firefighter Halle Schafer after she was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that can cause tingling, numbness and temporary paralysis.
Schafer, who also works as an EMT with Kanawha County Ambulance Authority, began experiencing symptoms just weeks ago .
Now, fellow first responders are selling “Halle Strong” T-shirts to help with medical expenses and raise awareness.
Organizers say Schafer is responding well to treatment, and T-shirt orders will be accepted through March 1.
