A Kanawha County man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop in Sissonville early Friday. A vehicle driven by Harrison Shaffer Jr., 50, of Charleston was stopped Friday for defective equipment when deputies said they found drugs in his vehicle, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office. A K9 unit alerted to narcotics in the vehicle leading deputies to a bag hidden in the trunk. They said a loaded handgun, about 3.38 grams of a pink powdery substance believed to be fentanyl, about 5.5 grams of a white crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine and a digital scale were found. Shaffer was taken into custody and during a body search, deputies said they located two more plastic bags containing suspected meth weighing about 0.79 grams and 0.85 grams, along with $2,549 in cash.
