Two people are dead in Friday shooting

Two people are dead and another person injured in a shooting early Friday in Huntington. The shooting happened about 2:30 a.m. in the 300 block of 14th Street, just two blocks west of Marshall University’s campus, that from a news release from the Huntington Police Department. The two men killed were later identified as Adrian Phillips, 26, and Derious Johnson, 39, both of Huntington. St. Joseph Central Catholic High School shared a statement on social media shortly after Johnson was identified as one of the victims, calling him a “beloved coach, mentor, parent and friend.” Huntington police are investigating the shooting.
