West Virginians will soon help choose a new look for the state’s iconic “I Voted!” stickers.
More than 1,000 eighth graders entered the inaugural student art contest, according to a release from the West Virginia Secretary of State’s Office. County clerks selected local winners before a committee narrowed the field to four regional finalists.
They include Ellie Crislip of Ripley Middle in Jackson County, and Reese Childers of Shady Spring Middle in Raleigh County.
The public can vote for a statewide winner through Friday, Feb. 27.
The winner will be announced March 11 during National Civics Learning Week at the State Capitol, and the design will be used in the student’s home county during the 2026 primary election.
