Comment period is open now on a proposed data center in Point Pleasant

A proposed data center is drawing strong reactions in Point Pleasant.

At a packed meeting, residents called for more transparency from developer Fidelis New Energy. Some say they’re not opposed to the project but want to be treated fairly and fully informed before anything moves forward.

Community groups are now helping residents understand the proposal and where the data center could be built—near the former Mason County Airport site.

They say many people feel their voices haven’t been heard by leaders or developers, and they’re working to change that.

A public comment period on the project’s stormwater permit is open through March 25.
