Appalachian Power is asking for feedback from the Huntington community on a project aimed at improving electric service. The company hosted an open house at the Fairfield East Community Center this week to talk about how construction could impact nearby properties. The project, known as the Darrah-Barnett Transmission Line Rebuild, includes rebuilding about three miles of 69-kilovolt transmission line and upgrading two substations to boost reliability and reduce the risk of outages. AEP says landowners in the area will receive information packets by mail, and right-of-way agents will be reaching out later this year to discuss field work, easements and construction plans. The company is encouraging feedback on the project through Friday, March 27.
