Huntington officials have introduced a new safety dashboard on the city’s website to track crime trends and help allocate resources. City Hall staff spent months organizing the data.
Mayor Patrick Farrell said the dashboard lets residents see the reality of crime in the city, rather than relying on rumors. Rev. Samuel Moore added that it promotes transparency and helps correct misconceptions about certain neighborhoods.
Updated monthly, the dashboard is already guiding patrol decisions, and officials plan to expand it with additional categories, including fire department statistics.
