St. Albans man pleads guilty to child sexual assault

A Kanawha County man accused of sexually assaulting a child over several years has pleaded guilty. Prosecutors say 37-year-old Clifford D. Fronda of St. Albans entered guilty pleas to five child sexual assault-related charges in a case dating back to 2022.

According to the Kanawha County Prosecutor’s Office, the child revealed the abuse during a forensic interview in January 2025, describing incidents that happened multiple times between 2022 and 2024.

Investigators say Fronda later admitted to some of the allegations while speaking with Kanawha County deputies and was arrested.

He now faces 45 to 115 years in prison when he is sentenced on June 4.
