Fourteen Towns and Cities to Share Hero Pay

After a unanimous vote by the Kanawha County Commission, public safety grant funds will give first responders a bump in pay. The county’s emergency grant committee came up with a formula to distribute $135,000 to 14 municipalities. South Charleston has 185 frontline workers who will split more than $43,000. First responders in Nitro, St. Albans, Dunbar, Clendenin, Belle, and several other places will get a share of the hero pay.
