Charleston Distance Run competitors are known for overcoming tough challenges on the course, but this year they won’t have the chance. Distance Run Committee members announced on social media that they are canceling this year’s race that had been scheduled for Sept. 5. It would have been the 48th year for the race, which features a 15-mile run, a three-person, 15-mile relay, a 5K run and a 5K walk. The CDR joins a growing list of big events that have been canceled this year amid the coronavirus pandemic, including Live on the Levee, FestivALL, Multifest and The State Fair of West Virginia.
