Fireworks Window is 11 AM to 11 PM

Rules for setting off your own fireworks vary from city to city. In Charleston, an ordinance passed in 2016 sets the rules. It says you can set off fireworks on the Fourth of July from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and not from sidewalks or roads. There is a possible $500 fine for violating the ordinance and lighting fireworks outside of the approved window. WCHS TV reported Metro 911 has received several calls of people prematurely igniting fireworks.
